Woman killed in Lowndes County early morning crash

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – An Oktibbeha County woman was killed in an early morning crash in Lowndes County.

The accident happened at the intersection of Highway 45 and Jess Lyons Road, just before 8.

State troopers said a Nissan Pathfinder driven by Jenny Pinkerton, 28, of Sulligent, Alabama was going north on Highway 45.

Investigators believed Pinkerton collided with Myra Gale May in the southbound turning lane.

Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant said the 62 year-old May died at the scene.

Pinkerton had moderate injuries.
