Witnesses say car accident causes gas leak in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Columbus Fire and Rescue responded to a gas leak in the city late Saturday night.

Emergency response officials were called to a home on the 500 block of Peach St.

Witnesses said a car hit a gas meter on the side of a house, causing gas to leak out into the open.

Atmos Energy was called in to turn the gas off and repair it.

There were no injuries reported.
