Wintry Weather Close To Our Area
TONIGHT: Cloudy skies will continue but a few light rain or snow showers are possible across far southern Noxubee and Pickens Counties. The remainder of our area is going to stay dry. Look for lows in the upper 20s and lower 30s. Locations along and south of the I-20/59 corridor have the best chance to get a coating to maybe 1″ or more of snow. Some spots south of Meridian may get over 2″ of snow. Consider that if you’ll be traveling to the south during the night.
FRIDAY: A little bit of light rain or snow can’t be ruled out in southern Noxubee and Pickens Counties during the morning but there won’t be any impacts here locally. Some ongoing winter weather issues may persist along and southeast of the I-20/59 corridor. Overcast skies should gradually allow for more and more sunshine as the day unfolds. Daytime highs are only going to be in the low 40s along with a northerly breeze between 5 and 15 mph.
FRIDAY NIGHT: Clear and chilly conditions settle in. Temperatures will easily tumble down into the mid 20s.
SATURDAY & SUNDAY: Mostly sunny weather takes hold of the area but we’ll remain chilly. Highs should remain in the upper 40s with lows in the 20s.
NEXT WEEK: Temperatures will be all over the place but it continues to look like Monday will be the warmest with highs around 60°. No rain is expected all of next week.
