Winona Man Receives Maximum Sentence for Animal Cruelty
WINONA, Miss. (WCBI) — A Winona man gets the maximum sentence for Animal Cruelty.Michael Forrest was found guilty in Municipal Court in Winona, and sentenced to thirty days in jail, a fifteen hundred dollar fine, and court costs.
The charges stem from an October incident, when a 3 to 4 month old kitten was found burned and badly beaten in Winona. In Defense of Animals, through their Hope Animal Sanctuary in Grenada, offered a 500 dollar reward for information in the case. A witness came forward with information when news of the reward got out.
