What to do with the Tree After Christmas?
Tupelo, MS (WCBI) — Hundreds of evergreens that have adorned living rooms across the region are are about to see their days of glory come to an end. But they can be put to a new use. The City of Tupelo wants your old Christmas Trees, so they are setting up drop-off points across the city to collect them. Residents may take them to Theron Nichols Park, Hancock Park, Ballard Park, or Veterans Park. Tupelo is working with the Army Corps of Engineers to take the trees to use in Corps lakes across the State to create fish habitats. Trees are grouped together and submerged to form bedding areas for fish. The sites will accept trees through the month of January.
