What Leach remembers from MSU’s win at LSU in 2020:

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI)- Mississippi State opens up SEC play this Saturday against LSU. Almost one year ago, to the day, the Mike Leach Era at MSU got started with a bang. One bigger than most could have imagined. The Bulldogs knocked off the defending champion LSU Tigers in Death Valley.

Bulldog QB KJ Costello threw for 623 yards and five touchdowns in the game which set a single-game passing record for Mississippi State and the SEC.

“It was a good game. Such a swirl of what was happening all over the place,” Leach said.  “There was a point to where I can’t remember how close to if we were going to play or not. Everyone was messing with this COVID stuff. COVID this. COVID, COVID, COVID. That was when everyone loved saying COVID. People would say it five times to get a taste in their mouths. It was a very explosive game on both sides. Big chunks of yards on both sides. Anyways we won and it was a good and exciting game.”

Kickoff Saturday is at 11 am on ESPN.
