Video: Wet Weather Doesn’t Dampen Fireworks Sales

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – New Years Eve is just a few days away, and fireworks stands are fully stocked and ready for a big rush.

New Years is traditionally one of the biggest holidays for sales.

Despite rainy weather in the area this weekend, employees don’t believe the wet weather will dampen sales.

“The rainy weather, if it rains on New Years, it may put a damper on it but you know old people stay young and they like to shoot fireworks, so probably not,” said Orbit Fireworks employee Candy Nabors.

It is illegal to shoot fireworks in most Mississippi cities but most counties do allow fireworks to be shot.
