West Point Stockyard Burns To The Ground
WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) – The West Point Stockyard burned to the ground early Thursday morning.
West Point Fire Chief Ken Wilbourne tells WCBI firefighters arrived at the business about 4:10 AM.
The building was fully engulfed.
Owner Billy Scott says no cattle were injured. Firefighters helped moved the cows to another section of the facility.
The building is a total loss.
Wilbourne says the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The West Point Stockyard, which is off Highway 45 Alternate, has been in business since 1949.
