Water Valley Drug Arrest
WATER VALLEY, Miss. (WCBI) – The Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics and Constable Brent Anderson have arrested a Water Valley man on drug-related charges.
According to Sheriff Lance Humphrey’s, Michael Morgan is being charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and simple possession of a controlled substance.
Morgan was taken into custody at his residence on Central Street after a search warrant was executed.
Officials seized almost three-fourths of a pound of marijuana, $1,784.64 in cash, three ecstasy pills, a pistol, and other drug paraphernalia.
The serial number on the pistol had been scratched over, and officers say he could face federal charges for defacing the gun.
Morgan is currently in the Yalobusha County jail awaiting an initial appearance. He already has two prior convictions, one for aggravated assault and one for burglary of an automobile.
