10 AM Saturday: The latest forecast for Nate still calls for the center of circulation to stay JUST southeast of the WCBI-TV coverage area Saturday night and into Sunday, basically along the I-20/59 corridor.   If this track verifies then our area will experience mainly breezy/gusty conditions along with rain showers.  Some gusts may be over 30 mph. The forecast is not yet set in stone so there may be changes. Be sure to check back during the next 24 hours for the latest information.

SATURDAY:  It’ll be noticeably more humid but highs will be back into the mid 80s.  Look for a lot more cloud cover along with a 50% chance of afternoon showers and storms.

SATURDAY NIGHT:  Nate is expected to come ashore as a Hurricane somewhere in Southeastern Louisiana or Southern Mississippi.   We’ll have clouds and showers around here but no ill effects during the night. Mild, muggy, and breezy conditions should hold with lows in the mid 70s.

SUNDAY: The center of Nate is currently expected to stay JUST off to our southeast and travel up the I-20/59 corridor. That would put our area on the less active side of the storm.  There still may be some gusts well over 30 mph and perhaps up to 2″ or more in some spots but the worst impacts will likely stay JUST off our southeast. Highs should be around 80°.

NEXT WEEK:  Warm and humid conditions now look like they’ll linger through the first part of the work week.  Scattered showers will remain possible as well.  Highs in the 80s have a good shot at staying in place all week long.
