Warm and breezy Wednesday ahead of late-week cold front
COLUMBUS, Mississippi (WCBI) – The warmest day happens Wednesday before cooler weather arrives late week. Rain chances also look to increase Thursday PM.
WEDNESDAY: Expect another day of plentiful sunshine and fair weather clouds w/highs well into the 80s. A few spots could touch 86 or 87 degrees, nearing record territory. Expect breezy southwest winds as well, gusting up to 25 mph at times.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT: The winds will relax after sunset, leaving a comfortable and mild overnight. Lows will only drop to the low 60s.
THURSDAY: Clouds will gradually thicken/increase through the day, giving way to scattered afternoon showers. Rain looks to become more widespread Thursday night.
FRIDAY: Thursday’s shallow front will stall south of the region, leaving scattered light rain through much of the day. Daytime temperatures will likely stay in the 50s all day with breezy north winds.
WEEKEND: The late-week front may get another push of moisture, generating scattered rain chances on both Saturday and Sunday. The going trend is for rain at times over the weekend, which is good for our drought, bad news for Veterans Day festivities.
