Walmart Robbery Suspect Caught
TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – A man who police believe was involved in two armed robberies in Tupelo, is arrested.
Around 1 a.m., December 12, police officers were attempting to pull over Lawrence A. Wright, on Cliff Gookin Boulevard.
Investigators say Wright was driving a white truck, and failed to stop.
He got out and ran on foot a short time later, and was taken into custody.
According to police, Wright is a suspect in an armed robbery at the Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market gas station, on South Gloster.
A gas station employee told police, Wright made threats, indicating he had a gun, and demanded money.
Wright is also a suspect in an armed robbery at Domino ‘s Pizza.
That incident happened Monday.
Police say the suspect entered the restaurant, told the clerk that he had a gun in his pocket, and demanded money.
An undisclosed amount cash was taken.
No injuries were reported in that robbery.
Wright was charged with 2 counts of Armed Robbery.
A judge set bond at $125,000.
Wright will also face several misdemeanor traffic offenses, as well as a misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia charge.
He is currently on probation, with the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
This case will be presented to the next Lee County Grand Jury.
