Voting In Corinth Liquor Referendum Underway

CORINTH, Miss. (AP) – Corinth City Hall will be open three Saturdays for those wanting to vote absentee in the Dec. 11 liquor election.

City Clerk Vickie Roach tells The Daily Corinthian (http://bit.ly/UFyxO3) that in addition to the two required Saturdays of Dec. 1 and Dec. 8, city hall will open this Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. for absentee voting.

Roach says the decision was made because of the holiday season.

Roach says absentee ballots are also available during the regular office hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

She says mailed absentee ballots must arrive back at city hall by Dec. 7 in order to be counted.

Voters select either “for the legal sale of alcoholic liquors” or “against the legal sale of alcoholic liquors” on the special election ballot.
