Video: Young Citizen Makes Generous Donation to Starkville P.D.

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) -A local police department gets some help from a pint-sized philanthropist. Six year old Nate Stockton has been collecting change over the Summer and saving it in a jar. Today he turned the proceeds over to the Starkville Police Department. Nate’s contribution came to $57.00. The young man, who starts first – grade tomorrow, saw a need, and thought he would help.

“I just decided they are the helpers in the town, and they will probably need lots of money for equipment. ”

“fifty-seven dollars…We can use 5, 700 dollars. But the most important thing is that no matter how small the gift is, it will never be bigger than the heart.”

Nate’s grandparents say that he “was” planning on being a police officer, but now he has turned his attention to Marine Biology.
