Video: Winston County Supervisors Open Demolition Bids

LOUISVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Winston County leaders now know about how much it will cost to demolish the hospital destroyed by last year’s tornado. Bids were opened Thursday in Louisville.

They ranged from one point six million to the lowest bidder out of Mobile at six hundred 56 thousand.

A Tupelo firm had the second lowest bid but could complete the work sooner, which will have to be discussed because of state law.

The Winston Medical Foundation board will present a recommendation to the board of supervisors for approval.

A contractor will most likely not be hired until the first of July.
