Video: Winner of Tupelo’s Elvis Tribute Artist Competition Advances Through First Round in Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. and TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – The winner of June’s Elvis Tribute Artist Competition in Tupelo has made it through the first round of a contest in Memphis.
Ben Thompson, from London England, advanced to the top 10 of the Elvis Presley Enterprises “Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Competition” on Tuesday in Memphis.

In June, Thompson beat a field of contenders to take top spot in the competition for the Tupelo Elvis Fest, earning him the right to represent the singer’s hometown at the Memphis event.

Thompson will compete Thursday in the final round of the Memphis competition. This coming Saturday marks the 37th anniversary of Elvis’ death.
