Video: West Point Student’s Crusade Brings out Community Involvement
WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) – In less than one week a West Point student and her classmates have raised almost $3,000 for families in Flint, Michigan.
Honor Brown and Central School have collected money to buy water. The city of Flint continues to deal with contaminated water.
Smith and Principal Wynesther Cousins presented the money today at the West Point Walmart.
The West Point students raised money by donating a dollar each day they wore jeans instead of a school uniform.
The funds will be transferred to a Walmart in Flint where students and their families can collect bottled water.
