WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) – The West Point School District is hoping an app will give educators and law enforcement better peace of mind.
In case of an emergency, the app will dial 911 for the user, and notify everyone in the building about what’s going on.
It will also give the caller’s location, and notify all law enforcement within a 5 mile radius of the school. Administrators say time is critical when there’s an emergency, and hope this app will decrease response time.
“I have talked to people in the community and I’ve got nothing but positive feedback from schools, the community, the law enforcement, everyone sees this as something that could potentially save lives.”
Administrators hope the app to be ready by December, or early January.
