Video: West Point PD Still On The Hunt For AC Burglar

WEST POINT, Miss.(WCBI)—Thieves are trying to beat the summer heat by stealing some cool air.

The West Point Police Department is investigating a string of air condition burglaries.

The thefts began about 4 months ago. Investigators says the homes being targeted are ones are either vacant or being remodeled.

Officers believe the thieves are taking the window units to a stash location or selling them online.

West Point assistant Police Chief Albert Lee says the department is working around the clock to catch the suspects but they need the community’s help.

“So, we just encourage everyone put some kind of identifying mark or get some kid of logging system to log down all the valuable serial numbers and that will be a big help for us,”said Lee.

The West Point PD is offering a reward to anyone with information on these burglaries
