NORTHEAST MISSISSIPPI (WCBI) -You may enjoy fireworks but your pet may not. Independence Day is one of the most common times for pets to run off and get lost.

Pets are more sensitive to the lights, and especially the noise, and may try to run to escape them, but there are things to do to keep them safe.

“If there’s something you know that makes them comfortable like a certain blanket or a certain toy, of course do that. Some dogs like it when you leave the TV on for them or the radio. Anything you can do to keep them comfortable, it will be good to do that. ”

The best thing to do is keep your animals inside,in a comfortable space with plenty of food and water.
