TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – A fighter jet used in the Vietnam War will soon be on display as part of a tribute to veterans at a Tupelo park.
This F-105 “Thunderchief” is getting a final paint job, that will make it look like it did in the 1960s, when the planes were used extensively in the Vietnam War.
The plane has been at Transport Trailer for a couple of years, as it has been repaired and made ready to sit on a pedestal at Veteran’s Park.
The display will eventually include a replica of the Vietnam Memorial in Washington DC. The Thunderchief will be in place by the end of this month.
