COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — The murder of Brittney Foster has stunned the Columbus community and now those who knew Foster are speaking out about her life.
23-year-old Brittney Foster was gunned down late Saturday night by a woman she apparently knew, after leaving her job at the Columbus Buffalo Wild Wings. Tarkesha Carter has been charged in her murder. Buffalo Wild Wings released this statement:
“As local owners of the Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant in Columbus and members of the community, we are deeply saddened by the tragic incident that took the life of Brittany Foster, who was a member of our Buffalo Wild Wings team. We extend our thoughts and prayers to her family, our team members and to all who are directly impacted by this tragedy. We are working closely with law enforcement officials regarding this matter.”
Those who knew Foster have also taken to social media to remember her. Tommie Stinson was Foster’s personal fitness trainer for the last year and says she was a pleasure to have as a client.
“A great person and very outgoing, full of life. She was with my 7 o’clock group and when she came in everyone just lit up when she comes and get excited. Everyone loved working out with her and I love training her also,” says Tommie Stinson, of Fit by Stins in Starkville.
Foster would’ve been 24-year-old at the end of this month. The news of her death has left the community confused and shocked by her sudden death.
“I was saddened when I heard that, in disbelief really. She was always the one that said she hates confrontation. She hates a lot of drama. When I heard that happened when she was leaving work, I was really surprised,” Stinson said.
Foster also worked at Weyerhaeuser in Lowndes County. A motive for Foster’s death has not yet been released.
