JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI) — U.S. Senator Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) says last week’s election was an indicator of the public’s disapproval of U.S. President Barack Obama and his policies.
Wicker said the new Republican majority in the senate will mean big changes when congress convenes in January.
Wicker said the senate will be more open under the new leadership.
“I do think we will see more scrutiny given to Obama administration proposals, and I think there will be some defunding of these executive orders and regulations coming out of the administration,” Wicker said. “But I think the thing we will see first and foremost is a more open process with the voters back home able to see how their senators stand on the issues.”
Wicker also said it would not be wise for Obama to issue some sort of executive order regarding amnesty for illegal immigrants.
