Video: United Way of Northeast Mississippi Surpasses Fundraising Goals

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – The annual fundraising effort for United Way of Northeast Mississippi exceeded expectations.

In July, the organization set a goal of 2.5 million dollars for its 2015 campaign.

The agency raised $2,564,762.00, surpassing its goal.

Money was raised through workplace campaigns, and individual donations.

Campaign chairman Chauncey Godwin believes the results say a lot about the people of the area.

“Northeast Mississippi , I grew up in this area, has always been a giving, very giving population. We can’t say enough to thank everybody in the seven county area of Northeast Mississippi for their continued support of the United Way.”

The United Way helps fund 67 agencies in the Northeast Mississippi area.
