Video: Union County Sheriff Treats Senior Citizens to Lunch

UNION COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) -Senior citizens enjoy lunch and some great music today during an annual event to honor those who have given so much.

Union County Sheriff Jimmy Edwards hosted the event at the fairgrounds. Hundreds turned out to enjoy fried catfish with all the trimmings.Edwards believes it’s important to honor senior citizens for all the work they’ve done to build the community.

“Well, it’s a good time for them to get out and fellowship amongst each other, that they may not get to do otherwise and see their friends and neighbors and it’s just important for us to know that they’re important to us and appreciate what they’ve done for us.”
