Video: U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker Speaks in Amory

AMORY, Miss. – (WCBI) U.S. Senator Roger Wicker makes a stop in Amory Thursday.

The Mississippi Republican gave the Rotary Club an update on a number of issues, including the Farm Bill, veterans health care, and Ebola.

Wicker says the U.S. has a weak foreign policy. In particular, he says President Obama’s decision to remove troops from Iraq has created the deadly situation with ISIS.

“As we go forward, now we are trying to fight ISIS in Iraq and now in Syria. We need an assurance that this is something that can be sustained. I do not want to take this hill again and abandon it,” says Sen. Wicker.

Wicker and Senator Thad Cochran will meet with North Mississippi Medical Center administrators tomorrow to talk about Ebola and new federal requirements.
