TUPELO, MISS. (WCBI) – The Tennessee Valley Authority is promoting its recreational properties through a social media contest.
Now through Labor Day, boaters, campers, hikers and others who use TVA properties are asked to take a photo, and share it as part of a contest.
Participants can share their photos to TVA’s Facebook page, or post photos to personal twitter or instagram accounts, with #TVA summer.
TVA officials say it’s a way to let others know about things TVA manages and operates.
“But a lot of people don’t realize, besides the electricity, that we also manage the Tennessee River and its tributaries, so that’s why we’re doing this contest, we ‘re kind of showing that off and showing off terrific land that’s available, anywhere you go along the Tennessee River and its tributaries, so we hope everybody will go out, participate and have some fun, most importantly,” said TVA Spokesman Chris Stanley.
After Labor Day, a panel of judges will pick winners from the submitted photos. Winners will get a variety of prizes.
