Video: Tupelo Students Learning to Love Sweet Potatoes

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – Thomas Street Elementary students are learning about sweet potatoes.

There were plenty of the roasted vegetables for the Tupelo kids Thursday.

The sweet potato is the “Harvest of the Month” at the school.

Topashaw Farms in Vardaman supplied the sweet potatoes.

The goal of the taste test is to educate children about proper nutrition.

“What did you think about sweet potatoes?”

“They are very good and they are very tasty.”

“Who is your favorite Superhero?”

“Batman”

“Does Batman eat sweet potatoes?”

“Yeah.”

Next week, sweet potatoes will be on the menu at the school.
