Video: Tupelo Students and Teachers Take the “Cold Water Challenge” for Classmate

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – Students at one elementary school were able to dump cold water on their principal, and a few other teachers.
Kentrell Gray is a first grader at Tupelo’s Carver Elementary. He was recently diagnosed with cancer and is facing months of chemo at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Students at the school brought their spare change for a week, as a fundraiser for the world famous hospital.
They raised one thousand dollars and principal Christy Carroll, said if students raised a lot of money, she would take the ice water challenge.
Teacher Wanda Mitchell’s class raised the most money, and she also took the water challenge.
