Video: Tupelo Seventh Grader Makes it to Semi-Final Round in Spelling Bee

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — A computer test ends the run of Tupelo Middle School student Maria Kaltchenko in the National Spelling Bee.

The seventh grader made it to today’s semi-final round, and successfully spelled each of her words correctly.

At the end of round 6, the field of twelve finalists was selected. Kaltchenko did not score high enough on a computer test to make the final dozen.
