Video: Tupelo School District Names Parent of the Year

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – She is a graduate of Tupelo High School, and is passionate about providing the best learning environment for students.

This evening, Stacey Blaylock was named Tupelo Public School District’s Parent of the Year.

Blaylock and her husband Steven are both graduates of THS, and they have two children, one is a first grader at Parkway Elementary and the other will be in kindergarten next year.

TPSD’s Parent of the year encourages parents to stay active in their child’s school.

“It is a reward on both ends, the children love seeing you in the classroom, parents love them and appreciate them as well as the teachers and I have been rewarded as well by seeing their smiling faces when I am there.”

Blaylock hosted an open house for new parents and children to TPSD, she also implemented many fundraising events at Parkway.
