TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – A Tupelo restaurant honors a former Navy Seal and his family. As part of their revitalization plan, O’Charley’s restaurants are honoring hometown heroes in towns across the country.
The Tupelo restaurant chose Navy vet Hezzy Williams, a Mooreville man who serves as Senior Vice-President of VFW Post 4057 in Tupelo.
“He actually spent time in the Vietnam War where he received several awards during that time and we just wanted to pay back the community and honor him for what he’s done for us.”
“I’m just dumbfounded. I’m just really speechless it’s unbelievable. And feel when they’re honoring me they’re honoring all veterans. All veterans are honored when they just honor one. And I’m just dumbfounded by and I really appreciate O’Charley’s and the whole organization. It’s just unbelievable.”
Williams encourages Iraq and Afghanistan veterans to come see what the VFW has to offer.
