Video: Tupelo Police Nab Convenience Store Robbery Suspect

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — A 20 year old Tupelo man is behind bars on a $75,000 bond charged with the armed robbery of a convenience store. Police say Willie B.  Topp went into NT’s Gas Station on McCullough Boulevard Wednesday around 9 pm. Officers say he displayed a handgun and demanded money.  He allegedly made off with approximately $ 500.
Officers set up a perimeter near the crime scene and found Topp a short time later.

“We had video, had good description of him and as we continued to look in the area checking residences in the area, we found him hiding underneath a deck and his description matched him when we found him,” said TPD Detective, Matthew Wiginton.

Topp has no prior criminal record.
