Video: Tupelo Police Investigate Afternoon Motel Shooting

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — Tupelo police have one person in custody and are searching for another after an afternoon shooting at a motel.

Tupelo Police Chief Bart Aguirre says it happened just after 1 p.m. at a Motel Six located on Mccullough Boulevard.

Officers say a white male in his 20’s was shot in the leg in an upstairs room. He was taken to North Mississippi Medical Center with a non life-threatening injury.

Aguirre did not release a description of the second person officers are searching for.

The names of the victim and the person in custody are not being released at this time.

Investigators are still trying to determine what sparked the shooting.
