TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) -Mold sample studies from three Tupelo police department buildings show no general health threats to employees. Results were released Thursday. The study came after several employees in the detective division complained about possible allergic reactions . Since then, all employee offices were moved to the Tupelo Regional Airport, while the new police station is being built.
Testing was also done on mold samples from those offices, and they do not pose a threat.
“The building is safe, where we’re presently located, it’s a clean environment, there is more mold, outside, in the atmosphere then there is inside our building.”
The new police headquarters should be complete next August.
