Video: Tupelo Furniture Market Holds June Summer Show For First Time
TUPELO, MISS. (WCBI) – The bi annual Tupelo Furniture Market is underway and it’s being held earlier in the year.
For the first time, the summer show is being held in June, instead of August. Buyers and Vendors from across the country are in Tupelo for the market, which gives stores the chance to order inventory that will be in stock in time for fall shoppers.
Furniture market officials, and retailers say the earlier date for the summer show has many positives.
“The impact of the June show is so the case good people can get their goods in for fall because container goods take 90 days to get in, so you got to have it a little early,” said VM Cleveland, owner of the Tupelo Furniture Market.
“To place our orders for production, we have to do it this time of year so it’s shipped in January so this market is the most important time frame for us, so we’re looking to establish new dealers here,” said Dow Canup, owner of Kingston Casual, out of Madison, Alabama.
The market runs through Sunday.
