Video: Tupelo Church Invites Marginalized, Those Without Family, To Formal Feast
TUPELO, MISS. (WCBI) – One Tupelo church is holding a formal pre Thanksgiving Banquet for those going through tough times.
This coming Sunday evening, “Word Of Life” church members will bring out fine china, silverware and fancy glasses.
They will serve a turkey dinner with all of the trimmings to the needy and those facing life’s challenges.
Pastor Tommy Galloway says his church has a community wide outreach every Sunday before Thanksgiving, but this year he wanted to do something different.
“The Bible says in the book of St Luke, that when you have a feast, dinner or banquet, don’t call your friends, or rich kinfolk, or rich neighbors, call the poor, the lame, the blind and maimed. It’s going to be a feast, not just for people who can’t have a meal like that, but maybe you are going through a situation with your family, lost a loved one, you’re lonely, your family can’t come in for Thanksgiving,” Pastor Galloway said.
“Word of Life” Church is located at 1984 Cliff Gookin in Tupelo. Those who would like to attend the free, formal banquet are being asked to call the church office. For more information, call the church office at 662 620 0784.
