Video: Tupelo and Columbus Report New Cases of Overdue Bill Scam

TUPELO and COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) -An old con is making the rounds again.

Tupelo Water and Light and Columbus Light and Water have reported that scammers are calling customers posing as the utility and telling the customers they have overdue bills, and are facing disconnection.

The caller then asks the customer for their credit card information, or gives them a number to call to make payment arrangements.

If you receive one of these calls, do not give the caller any personal or credit card information. If possible get the caller’s phone number, and call the police.
