Video: Top Community College Writers Meet in Columbus

Columbus, Miss. (WCBI) – Eat Mississippi Community College played host to some up and coming authors and poets.The Mississippi Community College Creative Writing Association held its annual conference and awards ceremony at Lion Hills. The association presents awards in several literary areas, including Short Story, Essay, Literary Magazine, and Poetry.Two Columbus students represented EMCC in the Poetry division
“I think a lot of people think you have to take classes to learn how to write, and that is true at the professional level. When you’re just looking to get into it, the first thing to do is just start writing. Maybe once you get into high school, look and see that they are offering some technical writing class.”

“It feels great. It feels nice when something you feel confident in pays off.”
