Video: Thousands Expected For Bulldog Bash
STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI-TV) – For many Mississippi State fans, the fall season officially kicks off with Bulldog Bash in Starkville.
From humble beginnings 18 years ago to today’s full scale festival, the hard work continues to pay off.
Alex Coats is the Director of Bulldog Bash. He says the team is excited to bring this year’s show to Starkville.
Volunteers and students spent Friday morning setting up the final pieces for this year’s event.
Coats says, ” More than anything else, it’s a bring together of the university and Starkville, where we’ve got such a great event that brings the community together.”
Big name headliners like Flo Rida, Pell, Rock Eupora and Jake Slinkard and Co. are the payoff for weeks of hard work.
Bulldog Bash Assistant Director Allie Nichols says the planning takes months. ” We talk about what genre we want to do, what kind of direction we want to go in, and then we get a list of names. We talk about our budget, what we can afford.”
It was also an exercise in compromise.
This year’s location bounced between the MSU Amphitheater, to the intersection of Nash Street and University Avenue, and finally organizers agreeing to stay where it always has been… in the Cotton District.
The concert begins at 7pm
Organizers are expecting 35,000 people to attend this year’s Bulldog Bash.
