TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — Students at one Tupelo school had a surprise guest reader this morning.
The Grinch read to students at Parkway Elementary. It was a celebration for a lot of hard work by students who have read more than 4,000 books, which translates to more than six million words.
All 450 kindergarten through second grade students got to hear the Grinch as he read “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas.”
“Anything to promote reading, we are willing to do here at Parkway,” Parkway Elementary teacher Heather Cartwright said. “We love to have special visitors come and read to us. We have had a kindergarten class who has had a male reader everyday this month of December, the kids have loved it.”
The Grinch was joined by Constable Whodunnit. Kids were able to ask the Grinch questions and have their pictures made with him.
