Video: ‘Team Depot’ Installs Wheelchair Ramp For New American Legion Post
TUPELO, MISS. (WCBI) – Volunteers help a local American Legion chapter with a new wheelchair ramp.
A team from Tupelo’s Home Depot spent most of their day at American Legion Post Number 49, making the wheelchair ramp.
You may recall, that American Legion post was decimated by the tornado that struck Tupelo in April of 2014.
Since then, volunteers from the area, state and country have built a new facility on the site.
“The community has been outstanding, in their way of support, both financially, giving time, labor and resources so we could not have done this , without it, they have carried us forward in our rebuilding effort,” said Mike Pettigrew, commander of Post 49.
There were several veterans in the Home Depot team. By the way, the new headquarters for Post 49 is almost complete.
