Video: Teachers Spend Part of Summer Learning
BELDEN, Miss. (WCBI) – Teachers get a chance to try their skills at robotics, and learn about the needs of the future workforce.
It’s all part of the “Tek 2 Go” camp. For nine years, the camp has been held for students, but this year, organizers wanted to give teachers a chance to take part.
The three day camp allows educators to see first hand what types of skills are needed in local industries.
“We want them to see the real world applications, for the things they teach in school, the math, the precision measuring is a big thing, we spend time on that, we want them to know the real world applications for those things are vital for industry in our area.”
The camp wraps up Friday. Teachers also toured Hawkeye Industries in Tupelo.
