Video: TCPS Tops Ethel, One Win Away from 1A Baseball State Title

PEARL, Miss. (WCBI) — History could be made Thursday at Trustmark Park.

Tupelo Christian Preparatory School is one win away from their first ever baseball State Championship as they defeated Ethel on Tuesday in Game 1 of their 1A State Title series, 8-1.

The Eagles were paced by a brilliant pitching performance from Austin Laney and big games at the plate from John Mark Jolly and Easton Hood.

Ethel’s Hayes Wood and John Morgan Cummins each posted 3-hit games for the Tigers.

Game 2 is set for 1:00pm on Thursday at Trustmark Park. With a win, TCPS will clinch the State Title.
