Video: Store Clerk Injured Trying to Stop Shoplifters

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A Lowndes County store clerk is injured after she confronts two suspected shoplifters.  Store cameras caught the incident at the Dollar General on Highway 45 and Gatlin Road about 2-35 this afternoon.

A black male and female went into the store. When the clerk approaches she’s hit in the head and chest. The accused shoplifters ran from the store.

The male wore a dark colored jacket and the woman had a large purse.Deputies are now working the case as an armed robbery.
