JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI) – Same-sex marriages will not be allowed, while Mississippi appeals a ruling on the state’s gay marriage ban.
The Fifth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals made the ruling today.
On November 25th, Federal Judge Carlton Reeves overturned the state’s gay-marriage ban, but put his decision on hold for two weeks to give the state time to appeal.
The 5th Circuit also has appeals pending on gay-marriage bans in Texas and Louisiana.
Same-sex marriage is legal in more than half of the states.
