Video: Starkville Students Showcase Leadership Skills

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – The Starkville – Oktibbeha consolidated school district is on a mission to create future leaders, one student at a time.

On Wednesday the district held its “Leader in Me” community day.

Members had a chance to take a look at how the program is impacting the students.

The community tour made stops at all of the elementary schools in the district.

Students took to the stage for a musical performance showcasing how they can take leadership roles in the school.

“The “Leader in Me” empowers every student to find their skills and talent, and to use those in a leadership position. So, it’s all inclusive, and there’s a counselor that’s one of the things I love about it.”

The program is for students in Kindergarten through 8th Grade.
