VIDEO: Starkville Sexual Assault Nets Century Long Sentence
OKTIBBEHA COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)- A West Point man is sentenced to 105 years in prison for his part in a kidnapping, sexual assault, and robbery.
It only took 34 minutes for an Oktibbeha County Jury to find Terry Hill guilty on Thursday morning.
Hill was convicted of one count of sexual battery, one count of robbery, and two counts of kidnapping.
The crimes happened in May of 2016, at a house on Maxwell Street.
Investigators say Hill and Jerry Lee Talley entered a home, assaulted and raped a female victim and tied up a male victim and put him in a closet.
Talley’s trial has been re-scheduled.
Hill’s attorney says she will file a motion for a new trial.
“I’m excited the jury reached a decision quickly. I’m proud of the hard work of the Starkville Police Department. I’m proud of the courage the victims had to come here to testify to the horror they went through and I’m glad that we’re able to bring Mr. Hill to justice within a little over a year,” says District 16 DA Scott Colom.
Hill was sentenced as a habitual offender and because of that he is required to get the maximum amount of time for each charge.
