PONTOTOC COUNTY, MISS. (WCBI) – The “Cat in the Hat” along with “Thing One” and “Thing Two” were at South Pontotoc Elementary for “Read Across America Day.”
WCBI’s Allie Martin read the Dr. Seuss book “Happy Birthday to You” in honor of the author’s birthday.
Youngsters were encouraged to develop a love of reading during the interactive program.
” Just that they would see how much fun it is to read and become lifelong readers. Reading is one of those fabulous things that can take you anywhere and open so many doors and we want the kids to know that,” said Academic Coach Amy Davis.
South Pontotoc Elementary hosts “Read Across America” Day each year on Dr. Seuss’ birthday.
