Video: SHS Art Students Take Home National Awards

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — Only a few high schools can say they have a national winner in any field, but Starkville High School can. In fact, the Yellowjackets can boast two national winners in the Scholastic Art Competition.  Starkville High Junior Morgan Villavaso took home the American Visions Award for her photograph “Forever Young”. Senior Breland Anderson took top honors for her art portfolio. The young artists’ works were chosen from more than 2 thousand entries from around the country.

Starkville also had several State level winners. The Scholastic Art Exhibit is on display at the Mississippi Museum of Art through April 6th.
